Rather it is a place where addicts help other addicts and support them in their recovery. When a resident first enters our community, we expect them to focus on their recovery, forming relationships with their housemates, and attaining gainful employment. For the first days, all residents are on Level 1 which means they cannot take a pass and have a 9 pm curfew.
You’ll live with other guys who’re working on their recovery. Approaching 90 days alcohol free and found myself homeless. Trying very hard to avoid temptation to go drink or do whatever I can find. No matter how self-sufficient you are, history shows that we benefit from spending time with like-minded peers who share our goals and values. At Stepping Stones you’ll find the fellowship you need to lead a long road of recovery. Privileges and responsibility are tied to phases of the Stepping Stones program.

Using this experience, Callan decided to organize a more structured living situation for himselfand his newly sober friends. The basic rules of the house would center on accountability, sponsorship, meeting schedules, and house rules. If people wanted to follow these rules theycould be his roommates. Callan also thought it better to include only men, having observed thatthe co-ed living environment is not always ideal for those in early recovery. Mental health and substance abuse are often intermingled. We offer case management and outpatient services through local providers such as Wellstone and grant programs to ensure long-term recovery.

We place great emphasis on the concept of group accountability. It is at the core of our model as it both fosters personal responsibility and allows the house to function orderly. Victory Programs
Our origins are in the tradition of Oxford House, we evolved as our residents needed more support than a strictly peer-run recovery organization could provide. We recognize that recovery is often more complicated than abstinence from substance abuse. Mental health screening, counseling, outpatient, and medication management by a psychiatrist is available with our local provider. We have case managers who assist clients to meet their holistic needs.
Stepping Stones encourages Medication Assisted Treatment for those recovering from opiate use disorder. We have strong relationships with several FDA approved providers, several on a sliding scale fee and who offer full outpatient programs. Each home is fully furnished with appliances, an equipped kitchen, washer and drier, high speed internet, TV, and pest control. We are committed to providing a quality living environment that residents can feel both comfortable and safe. Stepping Stones housing is based on the Oxford model operating on the concept of group accountability, democratically run by residents. Stepping Stones is not a treatment center nor a traditional halfway house.
